Spirit Health is delighted to announce the opening of the new £2.3 million Brownsover Medical Centre for local residents today.
Since taking over as the provider of GP medical services for patients registered at Rugby Town Medical Practice on 1st December 2018, Spirit Health has been working with NHS Coventry and Rugby Clinical Commissioning Group, Brownsover Patient Action Group and NHS Property Services on getting the state-of-the-art site ready to open on time.
The centre, which covers 624-square metres, includes five consultation rooms, two treatment rooms and a waiting area that can seat up to 34 people. The interior décor was chosen by local patients to represent Rugby Golf Course. It has been built to serve up to 10,000 patients based on expected population growth and new housing developments in the area.
Dr Richard Palin, Medical Director for Spirit said: “We are delighted that the new centre is now ready to open. It has been a huge effort but we are thrilled with the support we have had from patients and local residents in the process. We will continue to work with them to develop the practice. Spirit is committed to delivering services of the highest standard.”
Jake Stevenson, Chair of Brownsover Patient Action Group, had this to say about the new premises: “This long-awaited new surgery brings GP services back to Brownsover. On behalf of the communities served by the new practice, Brownsover Patient Action Group welcomes the commitment and passion Spirit Health has shown during the first two months of managing the practice and in getting the new site ready. We look forward to continuing this joint effort to deliver exemplary practice and medical services to local residents.”
From 8am Monday 28 January, all healthcare services will be provided at Brownsover Medical Centre, with a new telephone number (01788 435 214) now in operation.
Patients previously receiving healthcare services at Rugby Town Medical Practice should now attend the new Brownsover Medical Centre for appointments, with patient records already automatically transferred as part of the relocation project. Brownsover Medical Centre is open to any patients in the area wishing to register with the practice.
