Podcast: Tackling the challenges around pulmonary rehab

Spirit Health joins the Academic Health Science Network’s podcast

By on June 29, 2021

We were thrilled to be involved in latest podcast episode by the Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) Innovation Exchange discussing the challenges around pulmonary rehabilitation, the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and how digital innovation can help.

The episode was led by Dr Hasan Chowhan and featured Kelly Redden-Rowley, a Respiratory Physiotherapist and Head of Community Respiratory Service at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals Trust.

Our Director of Product Development, Jane Van Aken, participated in the discussion to highlight the digital innovation within remote monitoring and its important role in the NHS recovery. She explained how our remote monitoring platform, CliniTouch Vie, has helped relieve pressures on hospital wards by enabling early assisted discharge of COVID-19 patients to be monitored by a clinical team in the comfort of their own homes.

Jane then introduced our new pulmonary rehabilitation digital pathway that utilises gamification to help motivate patients to be more involved in the programme and continue until its competition.
